Making Dreams Come True: Employee Scholarship Fund

March 10, 2022

You know from your own life experience that education is the key to the future.

Our residents depend on highly trained staff members who provide compassionate care, grounded in faith.  Spend any time with our staff and you’ll discover how committed they are to serving the mothers and fathers, grandparents, and friends in our care. Talk to our employees, and many will share with you their aspirations to learn more and advance in their careers. But for many, they look at the cost of continuing their education and think, “How could I ever afford it?”

That is why we need your help. You can make the dreams of an aspiring nurse or other healthcare professional come true.

Martisha is an employee who wants and truly needs an education to provide a great opportunity to advance herself.  She has been employed with the Church of Christ Care Community for a number of years and has already begun studies towards a nursing degree.  But for many of our single-parent caregivers, like Martisha, who have several children to feed and clothe (she has 4!), it is very difficult to obtain an education without some scholarship help.

In 2017, the Church of Christ Care Community launched its first-ever employee scholarship program. Our goal was to start the program with eight scholarships of up to $2,500 each, awarded to staff members pursuing a certification or degree in healthcare who could not otherwise afford their education. The generosity of our donors helped begin that fund.

Now with your gift, you secure the future for hard-working, caring, members of our team. You help us keep our talented employees by embracing them with your support. So important: through your gifts you ensure our residents continue to receive the best possible care from employees who have received the best possible training. Gifts received of all sizes will make it possible for us to invest in some very deserving staff.  Beyond that, gaining education will help them do their work even more effectively for the loved ones who come our way.  Perhaps you may be able to help make this happen with a gift of $25 or $50.  We pray some others may provide $100 or $500…or more!
